I finally tried that pottery class we talked about last month. You were right, it was way harder than it looks on social media. My first bowl came out looking more like a lopsided cereal bowl than anything artistic. But the instructor was really patient and showed me how to center the clay properly. By the end of the session I managed to make a small cup that actually holds water. I signed up for the next series of classes because I think with practice I might actually get good at this. The studio has this wonderful smell of wet earth and the whole experience felt very grounding. You should definitely come with me next time. We could make it a regular thing on Saturday mornings and grab coffee after. Let me know what you think.

Remember how we were looking for new places to walk on weekends. I found this trail out near the reservoir that winds through a grove of old oak trees. The path is mostly shaded so even on warm days it stays cool. There is a small stream about halfway through where you can stop and rest on some flat rocks. I saw a family of deer crossing the path last Saturday morning. The whole loop is about three miles so it is perfect for a morning outing without taking up the whole day. I packed some sandwiches and made a nice little picnic at the end. The light filtering through the leaves was really beautiful. You should bring your camera next time. Let me know if you want to go this weekend.
