Engrave a set of cups with your initials

Im trying to take a photo of a living room, in front of me behind the couch theere is a huge window with sea and sky view. When I focus on the couch - the sea is bearly visible . When I focus on the sea view - the couch is dark/ if the flash is on -unfocused. How can I do it? I add a example that I took with my older camera few monthes ago. Thanks
