| you had to put a third string player on the field to get injured in the first place so a team should be able to take advantage of that. how could a man sporting that marvelous mane ever have a terrible idea? it is from a medical liability standpoint. if you put a rule in place that rewards getting off the field quickly after an injury without offering the level of care expected by today's standards, you could set yourself up to (a) really hurt someone you pulled off the field quickly to avoid this situation and/or (b) have your players not report injuries and stay in when it's not in their best interest. the best way to avoid faking injuries is to provide teams with one injury timeout per half and then require them to burn a real timeout if a player is on the field for more than 30 seconds. wanting to keep the game going is not an excuse of willful negligence or a valid reason to forego |
