An Update to Your FedEx Delivery

I meant to get back to you sooner because I did try that route you suggested, and it actually worked better than I expected.
I started by keeping everything simple and not forcing a plan for the whole afternoon. Once I gave myself one small task, the rest felt more manageable and I stopped bouncing from thing to thing.
I also moved my phone into the other room for a while, which felt dramatic at first, but it helped more than I want to admit. The house got strangely quiet and I could finally hear myself think.
By the end of it, I had cleared the counter, folded the stack that had been sitting there forever, and even wrote down a few notes for tomorrow so I would not wake up trying to remember everything at once.
I still did not finish every little thing, but I stopped expecting perfection and that made the whole day feel less scattered.

I checked the route this morning and changed my mind halfway through because the clouds looked heavier than they did when I first looked outside.
Instead of turning it into a whole complicated outing, I stayed close to home and walked the side streets for a bit. That ended up being the better call since I ran into a neighbor pruning a hedge and we talked longer than expected about tomato plants and whether shade in the late afternoon helps or hurts them.
After that I came back in, made tea, and finally finished the article I had been reading in pieces for three days. It was nice to let the day be ordinary for once without trying to give every hour a purpose.
I think that was the part I needed most. I was less tired by evening, and oddly enough I got more done once I stopped pushing against the clock so hard.
