I was thinking we could start early, grab coffee, and walk that loop by the water before it gets crowded.

I meant to reply sooner, but I wanted to try your idea before saying anything definitive.
I took the longer route through the park on my way back and it was exactly what I needed after a noisy afternoon.
The path near the trees was quieter than I expected, and I ended up staying out longer because the light was really pleasant near sunset.
You were also right about bringing something to drink because I always assume I will be fine and then regret not planning ahead.
Next time I think I will leave the phone in my bag and just enjoy it properly instead of stopping every few minutes to check messages.
If you are free later this week, we should do something similarly easy and uncomplicated.
I do much better with plans that have room to change along the way.
