Bass Pro still has the Yeti Beach Lounge Wagon-3OO remaining

I think I finally figured out what was wrong with my old record player. It kept skipping on certain albums and I thought the needle was worn out. I swapped in a new cartridge and that helped a little but it was still acting up. Then I noticed the platter wasn't spinning at a consistent speed so I cleaned the belt and the motor pulley with some rubbing alcohol and that did the trick. Now it sounds as good as the day I found it at that estate sale last spring. I've been going through my parents' old vinyl collection and some of these records are in cKDdkYOSm2wmIf incredible shape. The older jazz stuff is what surprises me most - the warmth of the recording just comes through so nicely on a proper setup. I still can't believe I found a copy of that Bill Evans record for three dollars at a thrift store near my parents' house. Anyway I just thought I'd share what worked in case you run into the same issue with yours. It's nice to have the old system running again.

Thanks for the book recommendation - I finally finished it last night and I see what you meant about the pacing. The first hundred pages were slow but once the main character leaves the city the whole thing opens up. I wasn't expecting the shift in perspective halfway through and I think that's what kept me going. Some of the descriptive passages about the coastline reminded me of that trip we took a couple years ago. I've already passed my copy along to Sarah since I think she'd enjoy the writing style. I'm looking for something lighter next honestly - maybe a collection of short stories or even a memoir. If you've read anything recently that's well written but not too heavy I'm all ears. I have a long flight coming up next month and I like to have at least two books ready so I don't run out halfway across the Atlantic. Also let me know if you want to grab coffee next weekend - I'm free Sunday afternoon.
