Redeem your expiring Kroger points before they're gone

Hey, thanks for checking in about the community garden plot. I finally got my raised beds built last Saturday and it was more work than I expected but really satisfying. I used untreated cedar and lined the bottom with hardware cloth to keep the voles out. I filled them with a mix of topsoil, compost, and perlite that I found at the nursery out on Route 9. I started some seeds indoors a few weeks ago - tomatoes, bell peppers, and basil - and they are looking sturdy enough to transplant this weekend if the weather holds. I also direct-sowed some cucumber and bean seeds along the back fence. My neighbor let me borrow her tiller for the existing ground bed, which saved me hours of digging by hand. I still need to set up a drip irrigation system because hauling a watering can every evening is already getting old. CybbgKnfArMy I am hoping to get at least enough produce to make salsa and pickles by mid-summer. If you want, I can save you some seedlings - I started way too many.

You know that book you mentioned last week? I finally picked up a copy from the library and I am only about a hundred pages in but I can already see why you liked it. The pacing is really tight and the dialogue feels natural in a way that a lot of literary fiction misses. I had to renew it once already because I kept falling asleep early but that is more about my schedule than the book. I am hoping to finish it over the weekend if I can carve out an hour or two on Sunday morning. The main character reminds me a bit of someone I used to work with back when I was in that small office downtown. I have a few other holds that just came in so I might need to prioritize. Let me know if you have read anything else good lately since I am always looking for recommendations and our tastes seem to line up pretty well.
