Thanks for the recommendation. I started listening to that podcast series about deep sea exploration and I cannot stop. The episode about the creatures that live near hydrothermal vents was absolutely mind-blowing. I had no idea there were entire ecosystems thriving in complete darkness under extreme pressure. The way they described the giant tube worms and bioluminescent jellyfish made me feel like I was watching a nature documentary. I listened to three episodes back to back during my commute yesterday and almost missed my stop. The narrator has such a calming voice too which helps with all the complex science. I also love how they interview actual researchers and play audio clips from their expeditions. It makes everything feel so immediate and real. My favorite part so far was the story about the team that discovered a new species of octopus. Can you believe they found it just casually hanging out near a volcanic vent like it was no big deal.
I'm already halfway through the series and I'm trying to pace myself so I don't run out of episodes too quickly. It's rare to find a podcast that is both deeply informative and genuinely entertaining. Let me know if you have any other recommendations in a similar vein. I trust your taste after this one.
