I think the potluck on Saturday works well if we each bring something that pairs with grilled vegetables. I was thinking of making that roasted corn salad with black beans and cilantro. It keeps well at room temperature and most people seem to like it. Let me know if you want me to bring a main dish instead. I can also pick up extra napkins and plates if needed. The hike you mentioned sounds good. Around four miles is a nice distance for an afternoon. I usually bring a small backpack with water and snacks. If the trail has shade, we could even eat lunch up there. Let me know what time you want to meet at the trailhead. I am free Sunday morning if that works better for the group.

I looked into the community garden schedule you asked about. The planting beds should be ready by the second week of May. I spoke with the coordinator and she said the soil amendments arrived last Tuesday. We need to decide which plots we want for tomatoes and peppers. The irrigation lines are being tested this week. I can help with the watering schedule if needed. Also, the shed needs to be organized before the open house. I have some extra seed packets if anyone wants to try squash or cucumbers. Let me know if you want to meet at the garden Saturday morning to mark off the beds.
