I checked the trail this morning and it is definitely easier than the map made it seem when we first looked at it.
The first part has a steady incline, but nothing wild, and there are enough shaded spots that taking breaks will feel natural instead of awkward.
I packed an extra water bottle anyway because I know I always say I will be fine and then immediately drink everything by the second mile.
If you still want to go, I can meet near the entrance and save us that confusing lap around the parking area.
Also, remind me to bring the small blanket because that overlook near the top is actually a nice place to sit for a bit.
I am glad you suggested getting outside for a change, because being indoors all week made everything start to blur together.
Let me know what shoes you are planning to wear so I can decide between the lighter pair and the ones with better grip.
