Get Your Complimentry Roadside Kit For All Licensed Drivers

Hi Mark, thanks for the note about the trail conditions on Mount Rainier. I checked the park service updates and they said the snowpack is still pretty deep above 5000 feet. We will definitely need microspikes for the first few miles. I was thinking we could start at the Paradise parking lot around 7 AM to get ahead of the crowds. Let me know if you want to carpool. I reserved a campsite at Cougar Rock for Saturday night. It is first-come, first-served for the group sites but I snagged a reservation for a standard site just in case. Weather looks clear but cold, maybe 45 at the peak. We should pack extra layers and a windbreaker. Let me know your thoughts on the route.

I finally tried that sourdough recipe you sent last week. The starter took a bit longer to activate than I expected, maybe because my kitchen is a bit cold. I ended up letting it ferment for almost 12 hours. The crumb turned out really nice though, nice and airy. I used a mix of bread flour and whole wheat. I think next time I will add a bit less water, the dough was quite sticky. It paired perfectly with that soup we had for dinner. Let me know if you want me to send you the exact modifications I made to the hydration ratio. It is a really forgiving recipe once you get the hang of the folding technique.
