Yeah I finally got around to repotting that monstera you gave me and honestly I was nervous the whole time because the roots were way more tangled than I expected. I spent about twenty minutes gently teasing them apart with a chopstick and tried not to break too many in the process. The new pot is maybe three inches wider and I mixed in some perlite with the soil so it drains better. A few leaves looked a little droopy for the first couple days but now it seems to be perking back up. I put it by the east window where it gets morning sun and then indirect light the rest of the day. My cat keeps sniffing at it which is a little annoying but so far she hasn't tried to nibble anything. I'm hoping it puts out a new leaf soon because I heard that means it settled in okay. The phfQwXf5IJp mix I used seems to be working well so far. Let me know if you think I should fertilize it yet or wait another month.
Anyway I really appreciate you giving me a cutting from yours because I've been wanting one forever and it's way more satisfying to grow something that came from a friend's plant rather than buying one at the store. I'll send you a photo when it really takes off.

We ended up taking the back roads instead of the highway and it made the whole drive so much more enjoyable even though it added about forty minutes to the trip. The leaves were just starting to turn so the whole route was lined with yellow and orange which made me wish I had brought my camera. We stopped at a little farm stand along the way and picked up some apples and a jar of honey that the guy said came from hives right behind the barn. I bought a small pumpkin too even though I wasn't sure what I was going to do with it but it looks nice sitting on the porch. The place we stayed at had a wood-burning stove and we spent the evening just reading and drinking tea while the fire crackled. There was no cell service at all which honestly felt like a relief. I woke up early the next morning and went for a walk before anyone else was up and saw a family of rabbits hopping across the field. It was one of those weekends that makes you feel like you've been away for a week in the best way possible. We're already talking about going back in the spring when everything is blooming. I think I needed that reset more than I realized.
