I finally checked out that trail you recommended near Mt. Rainier. The weather was perfect, and the wildflowers were incredible. We started early to avoid the crowds, which was a good call because it got pretty busy by noon. The switchbacks were tough, but the view from the top was absolutely worth it. I think I saw an eagle circling overhead. Definitely one of the best hikes I've done in a while. Have you been up there recently? I heard the fall colors are supposed to be amazing in a few weeks. I attempted that sourdough starter recipe you sent a few weeks ago. It actually turned out pretty well for a first attempt! The texture was nice and airy, though the crust was a bit harder than I expected. I added a bit of rosemary and sea salt on top, which gave it a great flavor. My roommate was impressed, so I consider that a win. It definitely takes a lot of patience, though. I had to keep reminding myself not to rush the process. I'm going to try a whole wheat version next time to see how it compares. Do you usually stick to white flour or mix it up? I found this great online group that shares tips for beginners, which has been super helpful. Let me know if you have any other good starter recipes.
