Courtesy Road Kit From AAA: On the Way to You

I think the pasta dish would work better with sun-dried tomatoes instead of fresh ones for a deeper flavor. The sauce needs to reduce a bit more than the recipe suggests since we are serving it as a side rather than a main. Let me know if you would like me to bring a salad as well. Timing should work out if we start cooking around six o'clock. I can also prep the appetizers earlier in the afternoon and bring them over when I come. I was thinking we could try that new herb blend from the farmer's market, it has rosemary and thyme with a hint of lemon zest. Let me know if anyone has dietary restrictions I should account for. I can pick up extra chairs if needed. We should have enough serving dishes but I will bring a few just in case. The weather looks nice so we might be able to eat outside on the patio.

I also checked on the wine selection and the store has a nice Italian red that would pair well with the pasta. Let me know if you prefer something lighter. I can grab a couple of bottles when I shop tomorrow. The dessert is still undecided but I was thinking a simple panna cotta with berries would be easy to transport. Let me know your thoughts on the menu and I will finalize the shopping list. I am looking forward to the gathering.

I checked the trail conditions and the loop we discussed should be open by next weekend. The elevation gain is moderate but there are a few steep sections near the ridge. We should plan for about six hours including breaks. I recommend we start early to avoid the afternoon sun. The parking lot fills up quickly on weekends so arriving before eight would be ideal. I can drive if everyone meets at my place. Bring plenty of water and a layer for the top where the wind picks up. The views from the summit should be excellent this time of year with the wildflowers in bloom. I checked the weather forecast and it looks clear for Saturday with highs around seventy-two degrees.

I was thinking we could stop at that diner on the way back for lunch if the timing works out. Let me know if you prefer a different spot or if anyone needs to leave early. I will bring the trail map and a small first aid kit just in case. The group size is good for this trail, not too crowded. I can also bring some snacks to share at the summit. Let me know if you have any questions about the route or gear. Looking forward to the hike.
