I was telling my neighbor about that new walking trail we tried last weekend. She's been looking for a place to take her dog that isn't too crowded. I mentioned how the path winds along the creek for about a mile before opening into a meadow with wildflowers. She seemed really excited to try it out. We also talked about the community garden project starting next month. I think it's great that they're setting up raised beds for people who don't have yard space. I volunteered to help with the compost station on Saturdays. It should be fun to get my hands dirty again and meet some new people in the neighborhood. Anyway, I promised to send her the trail map link, so I need to remember to do that later today.

I finally got around to organizing my bookshelf this weekend and it feels so satisfying. I sorted everything by genre and then alphabetically by author within each section. I found a copy of that cookbook I thought I had lent to my sister two years ago. The funny thing is I had already bought a replacement, so now I have two. I texted her a photo and she laughed because she found her copy in her garage last month. Anyway, I've been meaning to try the lasagna recipe in it for ages. Maybe this weekend I'll finally make it. I also came across a stack of old postcards from a trip to the coast that I had tucked between some novels. They brought back such good memories of walking along the pier and eating fish and chips in the rain.
