I think I finally figured out the best way to organize my bookshelf after years of just stacking things randomly. I tried color coding first but that looked too chaotic for my taste. Then I attempted alphabetical by author but gave up halfway through because too many authors have the same last name apparently. What ended up working was grouping them by genre and then within each genre by how much I liked the book. It sounds subjective but honestly it makes finding things so much easier now. My wife thinks I'm ridiculous for spending a whole weekend on this but she also borrowed three books from me yesterday so I think she secretly appreciates pXpGrhQe5klJ it. The hardest part was letting go of some old textbooks I haven't touched since college. I kept telling myself I'd reference them again but we both know that's not happening. Anyway I'm rambling now but I just wanted to share that little win because I know you've been wanting to tackle your own shelf situation for a while now.

You know I tried that new pasta recipe you sent me last week and it turned out way better than I expected. I was a little skeptical about the combination of ingredients because I usually stick to simpler things but I decided to just trust the process and go for it. The trick was actually in the timing of when I added the cream and cheese if you add them too early they separate and you end up with this grainy texture which is not what you want. I also added a bit of lemon zest at the end which gave it a nice brightness that balanced out the richness. My family ate every last bite and asked me to make it again next week so I would call that a win. I did have to make a couple of substitutions because I could not find the exact type of pasta the recipe called for but honestly any short pasta shape works fine. Let me know if you try it and how it goes for you.
