Courtesy Kit For Licensed Road Motorists

We have the church basement reserved for the third Saturday which should work well for the bake sale setup. Carol mentioned she can bring her famous lemon bars and the youth group will handle the cookie table. I think we should plan for about 150 attendees based on last years turnout. Parking could be tight so we might ask neighbors if we can use their driveways. Let me know if you think we need to arrange for additional tables from the community center. The school already confirmed they will help with cleanup afterward which takes a lot of pressure off the planning team. I will coordinate with the custodial staff about access an hour early so we can start setting up tables and signage before the volunteers arrive. A few people offered to bring coffee and juice so we should have enough refreshments for everyone.

We also need to decide whether to do a raffle this year since it generated a good amount of support last time. I have a few small gift baskets that local shops donated and we could bundle them together. Let me know what you think about that idea and if you have any other suggestions for activities.

I finally got the estimate back from the contractor for the kitchen refresh and the timeline looks reasonable for a six week project starting in early May. They will handle all the cabinet refacing and countertop replacement while we manage the painting ourselves to save on labor costs. The flooring people can come in during the second week after the old cabinets are removed. We need to decide on the backsplash tile soon though because they mentioned a two week lead time for special orders. I was thinking a simple subway pattern in a warm white would keep the space feeling open and bright. Let me know if you have a strong preference on the grout color since I know you mentioned wanting something that hides marks well. The plumber will need to disconnect the sink and dishwasher for a day so we will need to plan meals around that. I think we can store the basics in the garage fridge during that time.

They also asked about the lighting fixtures and whether we want to replace the under-cabinet strips while the backsplash is off. It might be a good time to do that since we already talked about wanting brighter task lighting near the prep area. I can swing by the showroom this weekend to look at options if you want to come along.
